Promise I’ll get right back to that Magical girl challenge.
Had to put it on hold to make way for some real-life stuff but I’m all free now!
Ah but then I got swept up in that fun color palette challenge but yes, I’ll get right back to it again after!
I also get to start thesis film production for SVA in mid-July.
I’d say do lots of research on the subject!
Best resource for learning how to break into the world of learning how to animate is probably ‘The Animator’s Survival Kit’ by Richard Williams.
This book will teach you how to get started and all the fundamental stuff you need to know. Start simple and gradually move onto more complex things. Animation is such a devil in that it looks easier than it actually is. Lots of time and practice and DRAWING goes into it all. So don’t sweat it if stuff doesn’t come out exactly how you want it right off the bat! :)
It took most of us over at SVA animation at least 2 years to finally get some real good stuff we were actually liking. So just keep at it!
I wish you the best of luck and hope this helps!
Oh gosh! Oh thank you so much!
I can’t wait to see them!
Haha I actually never had officially given them names.
I just labeled the rabbit’s animation layer as ‘Bun’, the dog as ‘Puppy’ and the fox as ‘Fox’.
I’ve also been asked about gender and I’d purposely wanted to leave all the characters as ambiguous/up to the viewer’s interpretation in that regard.
I love seeing how they’re interpreted though, I’m so humbled by it!
